The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the rate of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints in the world, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving profitable too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
