The Middle East is a region where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, often leaving little reward to discover more environmentally-friendly methods of moving around.

But this year, as demonstrations across the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.

In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is taking advantage of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list contains McDonald's.
